Important Note: This information was compiled and originally hosted by the creators of the Vision of Sages (VoS) Website. Due to the age of Trials of Atlantis, and the fact that the most recent post on the VoS web forums is nearly 3 years old, we are reprinting the Trials of Atlantis information from their website so that it does not become lost - like the artifacts they have done such an excellent job leading us to for the past several years.

Leveling the Artifact:
Strategy:
Get a Kibisis and Keribus Scythe (see Tips below) and go chop off a head of a named gorgon a bit sound of Aerus. Then go to Bergoes, use the head, and this will disable his special ability to self-heal.
Chopping off the head:
When killing the named gorgon, I suggest doing the dd/snare one since snare doesn't last that long, and its the closest. Avoid the mezzing one so she doesn't mez you right before she dies, which'll cause the head to spawn snakes on you while mezzed.
After you chop off the head:
While running you will spawn red con cobras who take a while to mature. I find this pointless anyway since you have 6 minutes to run there and since you're moving so fast you shouldn't aggro any spawned cobras. With speed 6, I made it there in 5 minutes about. Picture of snakes that spawn from the head
Running to Bergopes:
The running path I did was a nn/e from the dd/snare gorgon, between the new camp of baby gorgons and towards Aerus. Then I went towards the water running north parallel to the shore with the statues on my right, then through the neutral/friendly cyclopses. Then just due east past jacina's, ghita, hall of statues for ml8, past cyclops....and then eventually to the Bergoes or whatever his name is.
Bergopes is located at loc 55428 8874 Arbor Glen, this isnt his exact loc but its near his ship just go up to the top of the ship and there he will be standing.
Had me, a skald, and hit bot gank the gorgon then sped 6 out to the cyclops. Before this we dumped 1.5 fg at the cyclops. The reason we had they stay there and not help gorgon then catch up is because you can only disable his healing for ~15 minutes. We used around 6 tanks, while 2-3 heal fields making this a breeze. He does throw for 99% damage so be sure to spread heal anyone who's hurt so they live...and yes, being thrown IS fun. He doesn't throw far so its not too hard to rez. He doesn't budge from his spot, and his melee range is big (400ish), but since he can't move healers can just plop down healing fields at his feet and won't get any risk of being hit. He hit for around 400-500, and pbt works fairly well. He's also 75% resistant towards cold and energy, so I was hitting for 10 (-30). Tanks hit for around 40. Jan 6

Tips:
I went for the sleeves today. We took seven people and did the gorgon head method. Group makeup was minstrel, friar, paladin, rejuv cleric, bot cleric, theurgist and me as a fire wiz. We got him down to about 1/4 hp before the medusa effect wore off and his hp regen kicked in. We couldn't compete, even though we had 2 power fields down and had absolutely no problems in staying alive and well.
The problem was that the theurgist had to stand right next to him to cast pets and Bergopes likes to throw people randomly off the ledge and take 99% hp damage. It then takes them ages to get a cleric healing them and get them back up the slope to start making more pets all over again. He throws you a long way and you're left with 1 hp. It's LOTS of fun and we all had a great time but we just couldn't get enough pets up because of flying theurgist syndrome. We ran out of time, his hp regen kicked in and we called it a day. A couple more tanks or maybe two theurgists and we would have had him.
Just remember to take tanks and not casters unless you have several pet spammers and can get 30-40 pets up to start nuking. With 10-20 I was only landing fire nukes for 8-20 damage. Jan 3

You kill one of the gorgons just south of aerus haven, the Kerubis Scythe chops the gorgon's head off and it is held inside the Kibsis Bag. You have somethign like 4 minutes before the head decays. You then run at speed 5+sprint to the NE of Arbor Glen to the cyclopse standing on the top of the ruins. Name begins with B. You then USE the bag+head on the path next to the cyclopse and that disables his special abilities and makes him killable.
However this is the cyclopse who throws you through the air and its MUCH more fun to be tossed in the air than it is to kill him Nov 20
