The Paladin is a middle of the road character, with both potent melee and spellcasting abilities. Well rounded, he is the master of deflecting blows. With high armor and a good enough shield, a paladin can become virtually unhittable.
A paladin's gear depends on whether he chooses to pursue melee or the rout of a spell castor. A combat paladin will want a high blocking shield, such as the unique Hearld of the Zakarum, and the finest 1 handed weapon he can find, such as a Lightsaber, or the elite mace, Barinar's Star. Spell castors, who rely on skills like blessed hammer and fist of the heavans will want fast cast gear, with the best mana and mana regeneration bonuses he can afford. A great castor sceptor is the Hand of Blessed Light. Both routs are successful, it is all a matter of taste.
A spell casting paladin will want to pay attention to his energy, adding a few points as necessary. Conversely, strength, dextarity, and vitality are critical to the melee character. A combat paladin should concentrait on equalizing these three attributes, making the most of how they contribute to hit points, damage, shield blocking, and attack rating. Always add ehough to dextarity every level to keep your shield blocking at 75%.
More-so than anyone else, the paladin is a group player. His ability to enhance his comrads is a paladin's true calling. Fanatacisim, Concentrait, Conviction, and Holy Freeze are incredible assents to any ally, and the role of a party leader is where the paladin truely excels. Just about any situation can be bested with a paladin's auras helping a team.
